The winning bidder will provide contract, commercial and design consultancy services for the council’s capital works programme. This includes sports and leisure facilities, schools and educational facilities, libraries and community facilities, and refurbishment works.
The first projects are expected to include the construction of two new leisure facilities currently scheduled to begin construction in September 2016 at a project cost of £25m. One is a replacement leisure centre on the Copthall Estate; the other is a new facility to be constructed on a green field site that is subject to planning approval. The latter will eventually replace the Church Farm leisure centre.
The council will separately procure designers for projects but will novate designer appointments to the selected construction partner.
Companies interested in bidding have until 12th February 2015 to declare. Invitations to tender will go out at the end of May. Procurement documents are available to view at www.barnetsourcing.co.uk.
