Birse gets £19m contract for M25 service station access roads

12 May 11 The Highways Agency has selected Birse Civils to build ramp structures and slip roads for a new service station on the M25 in Surrey.

It will be only the third service station on the 117-mile orbital motorway. It will be between junctions 9 and 10 in Cobham.

Birse’s contract, worth just over £19m, is for access arrangements and an underbridge structure.

The Highways Agency has procured the above works on behalf of the service station developer. Extra MSA Cobham Ltd, under Section 278 of the Highways Act 1980 using a 5 part "developer as contractor" agreement.
