Originally built in 1917, Gargrave House in the North Yorkshire Dales has now been converted into luxury apartments set in six acres of land. The development required a Soil pipework system that was sympathetic to the original features of the property while complementing the building’s existing traditional cast iron rainwater system.
Manufactured from durable and lightweight PVC, Brett Martin’s Cascade range of Cast Iron Style Rainwater and Soil systems is ideal as a modern alternative for use in both refurbishment and new build projects. The product combines authentic detailing, traditionally found on older buildings, with all the cost and installation benefits of modern materials. In addition to providing material cost savings, the weight of the product also dramatically reduces labour costs, as it requires far less time to install.
The 110mm Soil System from the Cascade range is a fully sealed Push-fit system, which further enhances the speed of installation and provides maximum durability.
Martyn Burton of Dales View Developments Ltd comments, “Meeting the very stringent requirements of Gargrave House’s Grade II listed status was our main motive for selecting Brett Martyn’s Cascade Cast Iron Style system, as we needed to remain architecturally true to the original features of the building. It was paramount that the product selected had the valued aesthetics of cast iron and Brett Martin’s Soil system met our exacting requirements.”
The full Cascade range also boasts an extensive selection of guttering, downpipes, fittings, hopper designs and even a range of wall planters to fully compliment the installation. Reflecting the trend for priming and painting traditional systems, the Cascade rainwater and soil systems are now available in a number of heritage colours including Classic Black, Oxford Blue, Olive Green, Graphite Grey, Sandstone and Porcelain White. Brett Martin’s Cascade range is also UV stabilised and it will never rust or corrode over time, allowing the system to be underpinned by a 10-year product warranty for added peace of mind.
