The new version of The Design for Splicing and Lifting of Pre-Fabricated and Site Fabricated Reinforcement Cages for Piling and Walling Works explains how to choose between various proprietary systems of cage splicing.
It also specifies the need to follow any guidance from suppliers of proprietary cage splicing systems and there is also a section on lifting light cages.
From a listing of definitions through to cage design information, purchase orders and the delivery & lifting on site, the guidance note provides all the information required to ensure safe applications on site.
FPS chairman Alasdair Henderson said: “The document covers all the latest information and guidance to ensure best practice on site with regards to the design for splicing and lifting of pre-fabricated and site fabricated reinforcement cages for piling and walling works. The revision includes a number of new elements bringing the note right up-to-date.”
The document is available for download from the FPS website.
