Carillion will build 200 residential flats (totalling approximately 15,500 m2) and a hotel to fund the construction of a specialist Lambeth College Skills Centre for vocational learning.
The whole development is on a single site on Belmore Street, off Wandsworth Road, within the Vauxhall Nine Elms Opportunity Area. The 2.28-acre site is owned freehold by Lambeth College.
Build period is expected to be 36 months, with completion in the summer of 2018.
The total costs of the scheme will be determined by the scale and specification of the residential and hotel facilities. These costs were initially estimated to be in the region of £80m to £120m. The estimated construction cost of the Skills Centre is between £40m and £45m.
