The total contract value amounts to €136m, of which €124m are earmarked for Colas Rail and Colas Rail Maroc.
The work involves studies and construction for the line between Tangiers and Kenitra as well as catenary systems and studies, materials supply and construction for two work-site facilities.
Work is slated to last 42 months and the line is scheduled to open during the first half of 2016.
The win follows other projects in the region including the award at the end of 2012 of a contract for the extension of the Algiers metro in Algeria and this year’s win of a contract for the Tunis Rapid Train Network.
