The Construction Index “Pocket Edition” app has been specially designed for the small screen. Users can download information from the site and read offline later, if they prefer.
The full-featured app has been designed with total compatibility with other social media, including Facebook and Twitter. Email and call integration have also been included.
The need for speed and ease of use have been addressed.Just shake the phone to reload news and Twitter feeds. The app even works in the background: close the app, come back to it later and it remembers where you left it, whether on- or offline.
The app is split into three sections. Section one offers construction industry news, contract news and plant news. Section two provides Twitter integration, offering non Twitter users access to our “tweets” which includes construction tenders, contract awards, market forecasts and construction law.
Thirdly, the app also features the UK’s largest construction search facility, powered by The Construction Index website. This provides details of products and services from more than 40,000 construction-related companies from across the UK.
An Android version follows soon for users of other types of smart phone.
