An additional £13bn of construction work has been added to the list this year, according to business secretary Vince Cable. There are now 12,992 construction projects in the pipeline.
The idea behind publishing the list is to help the construction industry in general better plan for the future and to instil confidence in individual companies to encourage them to go out and buy more equipment and take on new recruits.
