Paul Parvin, from Sessay, near Thirsk, has had a long-running dispute with the insurance company, dating back to an accident in 2007 when an articulated truck ran into the back of his excavator in a dual carriageway.
Armed police persuaded Mr Parvin to end his one-man blockade after 90 minutes.
