MH Consulting Engineering has designed the new national stadium. Managing director Messele Hailu pointed out that the construction of the stadium would enable Ethiopia to host the Olympics in the future.

CSCEC general manager Song Sudong added that the stadium will have parking capacity for about 10,000 cars at a time and that the upper part of the stadium will be of fibre glass, in accordance with the design.
