Hewden has supplied equipment to White Horse Contractors, a design and construction company of natural and artificial sports turf facilities, for the FIFA Club World Cup.
A combination of dumpers and excavators were hired for the construction of both tournament and training grounds as well as the Emirates Palace Hotel pitch, Abu Dhabi’s first combined rugby and football stadium.
The equipment was on hire for a five-month period, throughout which work was scheduled to tight deadlines helping to ensure that the pitches were in peak condition ready for both the tournament and the Abu Dhabi football season.
Departing from Hewden’s Oxford depot, the Hewden team had just 48-hours from receiving the order to loading the equipment and additional parts on to the articulated transport lorry.
