Hochtief buys four offshore wind farms

21 Mar 12 Hochtief Offshore Development Solutions has acquired four planned North Sea wind farms from the project developer Enova.

The four offshore wind farms are North Sea Windpower 4-7 (NSWP 4-7). As a result, the 50:50 joint venture founded by Hochtief Solutions and Ventizz Capital Partners is now developing a total of five offshore wind farms in the German Exclusive Economic Zone. Ventizz had already brought the Nautilus II wind farm into the partnership in the founding phase of the company.

The NSWP 4-7 offshore wind farms are located between 160km and 200km from the island of Borkum and stretch across an area of more than 300km2.

Hochtief Offshore Development Solutions intends to optimise the projects in the early planning stage to reduce the risks for additional costs and delays in the subsequent construction phase.

The five offshore wind farms will have a total power output of nearly two gigawatts.
