HVO fuel tanks now available for hire

3 days Fuel distributor Certas Energy is now offering its HVO customers the option of hiring a fuel tank rather than having to buy one.

Certas says that construction companies looking to use hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) instead of carbon-based diesel but are hesitant about the investment can now choose its tank leasing option, eliminating the need for upfront purchase.

The steel tanks come with FuelWise telemetry, servicing and security features.

As a drop-in fuel, HVO fuel can be dropped and stored in existing tanks but many businesses opt for separate tanks for their renewable and standard diesel, depending on their individual needs.

Darren Holloway, commercial director for energy solutions at Certas Energy, said: “Our ‘Tanks for Hire’ offering is all about putting our customers in control of their fuel management, addressing the high upfront costs associated with buying a tank while making the whole process more convenient. Businesses have told us what they’re looking for and we’ve developed precisely that – this is fuel management on customer terms.

“This is a great option for the growing number of companies, particularly in haulage, logistics and construction sectors across the UK, that are looking to commit to a wider scale trial or roll-out of HVO. Being able to hire our tanks has made the switch to renewable HVO more attainable and simpler than ever before.”
