Founded in 1860, John Chorley operates from a single site in Warrington offering a complete range of steel products and end-to-end finishing services: from precision cutting, drilling, scribing and thanks to the New Rosler Preservation line, John Chorley’s can now add Shot Blast and Painting to their processing capabilities.
The move has turned John Chorley into a ‘one stop shop’ for steel products and a national leader in best-practice steel processing.
It is the first time a Rosler machine of this type has been employed in the UK and represents a sharp step-up in innovation in the UK steel production market.

Terry Shanahan, Managing Director of John Chorley & Co, said: “The new machinery is fully automated and will make our processes more efficient, enhance margins through higher added-value work and enable more accurate costings. It is strategically important to John Chorley in that it both broadens the firm’s appeal to its existing customer base and opens doors to new customers.
“I’d like to sincerely thank the team at Lombard Asset Finance for their support. We have a near 40-year relationship with RBS and the ability to provide a straightforward funding solution was key to John Chorley.”
Oliver Unett, relationship director North West, RBS CIB, said: “This is the exact sort of business that the regional team at RBS CIB is delighted to support. We’re looking to help successful local firms looking for a partner that understands their markets and funding needs. This new machinery has allowed John Chorley to bring in house sub-contracted work and offer a one-stop-shop solution in steel stockholding and processing. It will help the firm fulfil its goal of becoming a regional firm of manufacturing excellence the UK can be proud of.”
