King Lifting orders 19 Liebherrs

14 Feb 22 Mobile crane hire company King Lifting celebrates has placed an order for 19 Liebherr all-terrain mobile cranes with rated capacities varying between 60 tonnes and 650 tonnes.

Liebherr begins deliveries to King Lifting depots next month and continues until 2024.

The largest new machine is the eight-axle LTM1650-8.1, which has a 650-tonne maximum rated lifting capacity. The boom system comprises an 80-metre main boom, 21- to 91-metre luffing jibs and Y-guying systems to give a maximum hook height of 151 metres. It can lift out to a radius of 112 metres.

The 19-crane order also includes two LTM1300-6.3 cranes – six axles, 300-tonne class and 90-metre main boom – and three LTM 1150-5.1 models – 150-tonne rated, 66-metre boom and maximum tip height of almost 95 metres.

The full order is:

  • 3 x LTM 1650-8.1
  • 1 x LTM 1350-6.1
  • 2 x LTM 1300-6.3
  • 1 x LTM 1230-5.1
  • 3 x LTM 1150-5.3
  • 3 x LTM 1090-4.1
  • 6 x LTM 1060-3.1.

With a fleet of more than 120 cranes across nine depots, King Lifting is the UK’s second biggest mobile crane hire fleet operator. Founded in 1982 by Bob King, in Bristol, the company is now run by his son Tristan King.
