“I know from personal experience that Lafarge take feedback from their customer groups as very important feedback into their own sustainability programme. Our own Sustainability and Environment Committee acted as judges so the award is doubly significant coming from a range of cement users. We now look forward to rolling our sleeves up and tackling the development of our sustainability roadmap to 2020 in coming months with Lafarge Cement and all our other suppliers and partners.”

Javed Sethi, Head of Marketing at Lafarge Cement, said: “Winning this award three years in a row is an outstanding achievement for Lafarge Cement.  We are continuously striving to improve both our own environmental performance and to help the industry do the same and it is extremely rewarding to be recognised for this by the leading industry body.

“Sustainability is a crucial consideration for the whole of the construction sector and by leading the way in our sector, we can show what can be achieved when you are committed to taking action on the environment. Already this year we have launched the UK’s lowest embodied carbon cement, Cemergi, to help deliver sustainable building solutions to our customers.”
