All 320 flats in Hillington Square, a 1960s estate, will be refurbished and get new kitchesn, bathrooms, doors, windows and insulation.
Lovell will also replace external cladding and rebuild balconies and walkways as well as building new staircases and installing secure entrances for each block of flats. New lifts will be installed and garages will be remodelled.
Freebridge and Lovell are now developing a partnership with construction work set to start on site in summer 2013.
Freebridge chief executive Tony Hall says: “We have an extremely talented team working on the regeneration of Hillington Square and with the appointment of Lovell, we are bringing further skills, experience and knowledge into the team.”
The refurb has been designed by Hemingway Design – the company founded by Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway – and architect Mae.
