Tenders have been called for various elements, including depot enhancements, construction of additional stabling sidings, construction of a new testing and commissioning building, a new staff car park and platform modifications on line 1. In addition, there will be new pipelines, communication and power lines and tramline construction work.
Centro is looking to start quickly after it secured £75m of government backing last week for the extension from Snow Hill to Birmingham New Street main line station.
The deadline for tenders is 11 March.
