"We can confirm that we have commenced consultation with our piling staff regarding the future of this business,” the company said. “All existing piling commitments will, of course, continue to be fulfilled and completed.”
Morgan Sindall’s exit from piling follows the closure in December of May Gurney’s piling division and the recent folding of Stent and Pennine into Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering, as part of Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering.
Morgan Sindall has a large fleet of specialist piling equipment, from mini-pile rigs to self-erecting track-mounted hydraulic drilling rigs for all types of bored cast-in-place piling. It also has a full range of bentonite plant and for uncased piles and diaphragm walls in unstable soil conditions. Any bids for these will no doubt now be gratefully received.
