Banner Contracts, based in Halnaby, just south of Darlington, already has a Case CX350 excavator and four 1221E wheel loaders. It chose the CX700B to replace a CX700 that it bought in 2007.  The new machine is being used to load 3,000m3 a day of blasted overburden rock, into 40-tonne dump trucks.

“We needed a new high-production, heavy-duty machine,” said director Joe Banner. “The decision to purchase another Case machine was based on a number of reasons, which included good value for money, suitability for the job, and pre-existing dealer relationship.

It was supplied by CJ Leonard & Sons, the Cleveland-based dealer for Case Construction Equipment.

The newer version is proving significant more fuel efficient than the old machine, needing just 50 litres of diesel per hour, compared to 60 before.

“Our operators are impressed,” added Mr Banner. “They find this machine has loads of power, it’s also very stable and steady on its tracks, plus the cab is comfortable and has very good visibility.”
