14 Jan 14 JCB is introducing a new compact Hi-Viz Loadall telehandler with a side-engine mount design.

The new 525-60 Hi-Viz has a maximum lift height of 6m and a load capacity of 2.5 tonnes. It is just 1.8m wide and 1.91m tall, allowing operation in confined site conditions. It is small enough to get around a multi-storey car park.

The new model replaces the 524-50, 527-55 and the 520-50 rear-engine models. JCB said that the side-engine mount design permits a low boom pivot point for maximum stability and increased visibility to the rear and across the boom.

The machine will be officially launched at the Conexpo-Con/Agg trade show, which takes place 4-8 March in Las Vegas, USA.

Powered by a new Tier 4 Final, 2.5-litre, JCB Diesel by Kohler four-cylinder engine, the 525-60 delivers 55kW. As with other JCB engines, there is no requirement for a diesel particulate filter or an SCR system to meet the USA’s Tier 4 Final or EU’s Stage IV emissions regulations.

A two-stage hydrostatic transmission offers travel speeds of up to 25km/h. An 80 litre/min hydraulic pump delivers auxiliary power for a sideshift attachment carriage. Customers can choose between JCB’s Q-fit carriage or a skid-steer compatible attachment interface.

All boom functions are controlled by a single servo lever joystick, with proportional control of the two-stage boom extension.

The machine is available with a choice of canopy or fully glazed cab, with air conditioning as an option. Other options include JCB’s LiveLink telematic monitoring system, full road light kits and screen guards for harsh working environments.

JCB will also launch a new rough terrain fork lift (RTFL) range at Conexpo 2014 with its new Tier 4 JCB Ecomax diesel engine replacing the Dieselmax version. The Ecomax engine will be fitted to all four models in JCB’s RTFL range: the 926, 930, 940 and 950.

Lifting capacities for the range are 2.6 tonnes for the 926 up to 4.5 tonnes for the 950. Maximum mast lift heights are from 3.6m to 6.7m.
