Matt Bundy has joined Orbit from Westminster City Council, where he was head of major works, to investment works across its property portfolio, including its decarbonisation programme.

During 2021/22, Orbit spent more than £80m in its property repairs and capital investment programmes and has committed to ensuring all homes have an energy performance certificate (EPC) rating of C or above by 2030.

Orbit manages a portfolio of over 46,500 properties primarily across the midlands, east and southeast of the UK. Currently 82.2% have an EPC C rating or better but there is work to be done on nearly 8,300 of its homes.

“Despite the impact of numerous national and global issues, Orbit has continued to invest in its homes and communities,” Matt Bundy said. “Orbit is continuously assessing how it can improve existing homes and deliver a better experience for customers. I’m really excited to see how we can develop the delivery of our major works programmes as part of our commitment to ensure that everyone has a safe and comfortable home and continue on our journey to improve the energy efficiency of our housing stock as we progress towards the UK’s 2050 net zero carbon target.”
