The aim is for the 880m zloty (£151m) project to be completed by 2022. The project includes construction of the shipping canal – which will be over 1km long – together with associated infrastructure and modernisation of the entrance to the port of Elblag.
Objectives include enabling growth in the region by building a waterway that provides year-round access to the port.
