Several of the 1,000 kg Gardner Denver portable winches are already on hire with customers. As well as being suited for cable installation or removal, they can also be used for installing sub-duct into the main duct system, said PSS Hire, which is the part of A-Plant that specialises in utilities and pipeline equipment.
Director Mark Hamilton said: “We believe we are the only major hire company offering this type of equipment, so a number of units have gone out on immediate hire. This equipment meets a specific need for the telecommunications and electrical sectors and the optimum safety features were of particular interest to us.”
