Managing director Richard Lee said that the funding would be “a tremendous help in our product design and development”.
“It gives an SME like Jablite a huge step up and helps us to drive our innovations into the marketplace ready for organisations wanting to take up the Green Deal opportunity,” he said.
Technical and innovation manager Sue Ballard added: “We entered the DECC/TSB fund competition with the London Borough of Bexley, our own local authority, as our partner and we are really pleased that our new insulation product was considered good enough for this Innovative Refurb fund.
“Hopefully, once we have completed the first design phase, we will get further funding for phase 2. At that point, we get the opportunity to complete a scale model on a building owned by the London Borough of Bexley - with ongoing monitoring of the energy performance of the building. So we are all hoping the design phase goes well.”
