Sangwin Plant Hire took delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 last month, its heaviest all-terrain crane to date.
The machine has already been in demand with customers.
The five-axle crane is equipped with a 75-metre main boom and when a 12.2/22-metre double swingaway fly jib is added, the unit’s hoist height can be taken to 111 metres and its lifting radius to 86 metres.
As standardised in Sangwin’s fleet, the crane has been supplied with an engine shutdown system, which includes overspeed protection, for operation in petrol, gas or chemical applications.
Managing director Nick Sangwin said: “The company is very excited about the new addition to the fleet and acknowledged that the decision process was an easy one after listening to its customers. The company has some very high-profile customers who require the best and most modern equipment for the demanding environments in which they work.”
Sangwin is a fifth-generation family business established in the 1880s by Joseph Sangwin in Hull and has been in crane hire since the 1950s.
