The tender for the metro lines is being issued by NTA, the government-owned company in charge of the design and construction of the system.
The design and build contract is for TBM-built sections of the new Red and Green lines. The Red line is approximately 23km long with the central section underground and requiring a combination of cut and cover, TBM bored tunnels and NATM tunnels. The TBM section will consist of twin bored single track tunnels approximately 8km long with cross passages. The Green line is approximately 35km and will require approximately 3km of twin tunnels.
The closing date for the tender is 27 March.
