The North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC) is looking for between six and 12 contractors for its major construction framework, worth an estimated £750m over the eight-year term.

And the contracts could be renewed for up to eight years, subject to performance.

The five member institutions of the NEUPC are the universities of Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland, Northumbria, and Teesside. The framework agreement will facilitate works with a value of between £4m and £30m. Projects will be varied but typically involve teaching facilities, laboratories, sports facilities and conference rooms.

The first project to be let through the framework will be a new sports centre at Newcastle University, which will be tendered as part of the formation of the framework agreement.

Tenderers should register on www.in-tendhost.co.uk/neupc for inclusion.
