US Navy picks Jacobs and HDR

8 Apr 14 A joint venture of Jacobs and HDR has won a contract with the USA’s Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic to provide architecture and engineering services at various locations worldwide.

The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a maximum order limit of US$60m (£36m) over five years.

Under the terms of the contract, the joint venture is supporting the sustainment, restoration, and modernisation programme for US Navy and other Department of Defense (DoD) facilities and infrastructure.

The primary area of focus for the contract is the continental USA. In addition, the joint venture’s scope of work may include support to the entire NAVFAC area of responsibility, which includes the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, Western Asia and other areas.

Jacobs Group vice president Tom McDuffie said: “We have built strong relationships with our client, NAVFAC Atlantic, and our JV partner HDR over our years of working together to deliver innovative and efficient design and building solutions on DoD projects around the world. We are delighted to receive this contract that enables us to continue leveraging our capabilities and experience to provide superior value to NAVFAC Atlantic.”
