Trans Adriatic Pipeline has awarded Vinci subsidiary Spiecapag the engineering procurement construction (EPC) for a 185km section of the gas pipeline in Greece and two stretches with a total length of 215 km in Albania.
The 878km TAP will connect to the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Greek- Turkish border and will cross Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea to connect to the Italian gas network. Once completed, the TAP project will transport gas from the Shah Deniz II gas field in Azerbaijan into Europe.
"We have begun mobilisation of our teams to allow work to start in mid-2016,” said Jean-Claude Van de Wiele, managing director of Spiecapag.
