WA Hills joins list of failures

24 Feb 11 Colchester-based WA Hills is the latest construction company to fail to cope with falling workload and rising costs and fall into administration.

WA Hills carried out building and civil engineering contracts up to a value of £15m for a wide range of clients across London and the southeast, under joint managing directors Richard and Nick Walsh.

Glyn Mummery and Jeremy Stuart French of Hornchurch-based FRP Advisory have been appointed joint administrators.

Other failures in February include earthmoving contractor Gallons Ltd, based near Stratford-upon-Avon, which is now in the hands of administrators from Reading-based Harrisons Business Recovery and Insolvency Ltd.

Cornish M&E contractor Arc Installations, from Helston, has also failed and is now being run by administrators from local practice Purnells.

Felton Scaffolding (South West) Ltd, established in 2003 in Bristol, is in the care of Alcester-based practice Bond Partners.
