Willmott Dixon gets third Camden housing project

31 Oct 12 Willmott Dixon has been selected by Taylor Wimpey Central London for a £9m contract to build a waterside housing scheme in the London Borough of Camden.

The Regent Canalside scheme will comprise 52 new homes across three blocks ranging from four to eight storeys, as well as two new retail units.

Construction work starts in November and will complete in spring 2014, with a quarter of the homes available for affordable rent. The site is situated to the west side of Camden Road.

Willmott Dixon reports a growing workload for residential developers. This is its third major housing project in Camden, where it is also building the UK’s biggest Passivhaus residential scheme on Chester Road.

It is also Willmott Dixon Capital Work’s second housing project for Taylor Wimpey Central London following the recent completion of The Mill Apartments in West Hampstead, also in Camden. It is also responsible for building a number of residential projects for in-house developer Regen.

Ingrid Skinner, managing director for Taylor Wimpey Central London, said: “We are delighted with the quality of finish that Willmott Dixon achieve and we are looking forward to working with them again on this project.”
