WSP appoints environmental director for the Americas

21 Mar 12 WSP Environment & Energy has appointed Dane Pehrman has been appointed as director and regional lead for the company’s environmental assessment, planning and permitting practice in the Americas.

He joins from Black & Veatch Corporation where he was director of the environmental solutions programme for more than 12 years.

“We are delighted to welcome Dane to our team,” said Jan Chizzonite, regional managing director, Americas for WSP’s environment and energy practice. “His vast experience in planning and permitting for the power and resources sector will be of particular value to our clients and reflects the growing importance of these sectors in the Americas.”

Pehrman said that he is excited about the opportunity to maximise WSP’s global planning capabilities in the Americas: “WSP’s record in the energy and natural resource sectors, notably in the UK, Scandinavia, South Africa and increasingly in Australia, will be of real value in the exchange of best practices that add value to our recommended approaches in the Americas. The ability to combine global experience with specific regional knowledge of permitting and regulatory requirements in the Americas is a valuable proposition for our clients.”

As the regional lead in the Americas for environmental assessments and permitting services, he will be responsible for developing new environmental international and domestic business, providing project management and technical leadership for major projects and programs, and managing key staff in the Americas.
