In January 2023, Malvern Hills District Council was awarded £19,941,040 of Levelling Up Funding (LUF) for extensions to and improvement of Malvern Theatres, including all professional fees, which is to be delivered in 2 phases.

The first phase of the development which is due to be completed in Summer 2023 will see a dedicated creative learning space built at the front of the Theatre.

Malvern Hills District Council is looking for suitably qualified Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor Services for phase 2 of the development.

The second phase will deliver the following:

1. A 3,190 m2 extension involving the demolition of the existing changing rooms to accommodate the following interactive spaces:

a. new studio theatre

b. two workshop spaces

c. photogtaphy/film editing and sound studio

d. dressing room facilities

e. breakout areas and catering

2. The construction of an external amphitheatre overlooking Priory Park

3. An external lift to improve access for all members of the community

4. An upgrade to the Forum Theatre, increasing the seating capacity to 1400 seats.

The Council is using the e-procurement portal known as the Proactis Pro-Contract portal https://procontract.due-north.com to conduct this procurement exercise.
