UK dealer Marubeni-Komatsu says that we can expect to see a second new backhoe loader model introduced in the next few months.
The dash-8 backhoes are similar to earlier models, with Komatsu’s Power Shift transmission and four-wheel steering, except that they now meet EU Stage IV emission regulations.
Extended service intervals, updated Komtrax telematics technology and new seven-inch multi‐function monitor with fuel consumption indicators are also billed as selling points.
Power from the four-cylinder engine is 75 kW /102 HP, bucket capacity is 1.03 cubic metres and operating weight is 8.13 tonnes.
The front end can lift 5.3 tonnes at ground level and 3.9 tonnes at full height, wheuil the back end can dig to depths of more than 5.3 metres.
“This new series represents a perfect match between performance and efficiency,” says Komatsu Europe product manager Alex Visentin. “Keeping the exceptional visibility and exclusive design for the work equipment of previous models, our new backhoe loaders deliver high productivity and give special attention to the operator’s needs.”
The prototype of the WB93R-8 was shown at the Intermat trade fair in Paris earlier this year.
