Company:
They are a large, multidisciplinary with over 700 staff and over 90 years of experience in the built environment, and a history with water utility companies stretching back to the first days of their privatisation in 1990. Their approach to the utility asset market in the UK, as well as life-changing international developments, is to provide proactive challenge and innovation rather than simply 'turning the handle'.

They deliver to the water sector nationally through their offices located in Exeter, Croydon, London, Manchester, Wakefield and Sunderland and have had a long and successful track record in making water and wastewater facilities sustainable and resilient to population growth and development challenges, whilst affording enviable standards of environmental protection to the rivers and coastal waters.

They routinely deploy TOTEX Hierarchy and Design Challenge processes to optimise the operation of existing assets in preference to new assets. Small footprint, low carbon solutions such as Stormwater UV disinfection facilities (to avoid storage infrastructure in sensitive landscapes) are excellent examples of these approaches.

Their collaboration with major UK companies in the water sector across the country including South West Water, Wessex Water, Thames Water, Southern Water, Severn Trent Water, United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, Affinity Water and Northumbrian Water has seen the company provide multi-disciplinary design expertise over many years on an ever-changing set of frameworks to optimise water asset improvements for maximum benefit.

While others acquire or seek mergers, they introduce dynamism and innovation early in the development lifecycle by collaborating with niche expert companies to harness their entrepreneurial spirit. Coupled with their challenge and support, they remain flexible and responsive to exploit opportunities and provide a unique offering to their clients.

Role:
You will join an established team of Civil Engineers, supporting multidisciplinary design schemes, to assist with the delivery of projects within the Water sector, as well as providing support to a group of highly motivated, developing Engineers and Technicians.

Projects vary in size and complexity and may involve optioneering, outline design or detailed design. The work may be directly for the water companies or via a Contractor as part of a design and construct contract.

  • Perform technical or professional work activities to assure delivery which meets client requirements and is in accordance with relevant standards

  • Use of CAD/Revit and BIM knowledge
  • Working knowledge of sustainable practices
