The company are a small but rapidly growing flood risk, water and environment business with an industry-recognised leadership team. They are looking to recruit a team member within the modelling and hydrology team after continued success in their existing work and multiple recent project wins.

They are a fully remote team with colleagues situated across the country, including London, Birmingham and Edinburgh - but don't worry, they still provide opportunities to socialise with colleagues throughout the year! They do things differently to the larger consultancies.

They are also trialling unlimited annual leave (previous allowance 25 days) and look to their employees to shape the way they work.

About the Role

They offer opportunities to get involved with a variety of projects, including both public and private sector work. Their current projects include flood defences, strategic infrastructure, and private developments. You will become a key member of the existing consulting team, providing support in the delivery of these projects including the production of Flood Risk Assessments and construction of hydraulic models.

You will oversee and manage projects and clients, and provide mentorship and guidance to a growing junior team of outstanding young talent.

The Successful Candidate:

  • Will have an enthusiasm to continue their career in the water/environment sector. They are looking for someone that is hard-working, well organised, motivated, enthusiastic, flexible.
  • You will be able to work independently and as part of a distributed team and can communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with colleagues and clients alike.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • The ability to write clear, concise, and technically accurate reports.
  • Experience using hydraulic modelling packages such as Flood Modeller, ESTRY, and TUFLOW.
  • GIS experience using software such as ArcMap, QGIS, or MapInfo.

Desirable:

  • Experience in developing hydrological assessments using WINFAP, ReFH2, and FEH statistical methods
  • Knowledge of the drainage hierarchy and experience in undertaking drainage assessments and design.

If you believe you are a strong technical fit for this role but find the salary, location, or seniority level unsuitable, we still encourage you to submit your CV. We are continuously recruiting for similar positions at various levels across the UK. We would always welcome the opportunity to speak with you confidentially about your unique employment situation.
