A series of project wins in Brazil and across Latin America has prompted the group to upgrade its presence from project offices to permanent facilities.
"Arup has worked in Brazil for years, but previously we used project offices set up to deliver specific schemes,” said Arup's country director for Brazil Ricardo Pittella. “The opening of the new permanent offices in Rio and São Paulo plants a clear marker that we are here to stay and that we believe there is a strong future for Arup in this country. There's no doubt that there will be challenges, but with the global expertise of the firm behind us, I believe Arup can add real value for our clients and partners in this part of the world."
Arup is aiming for steady growth in Brazil based on building its existing client relationships, as well as a host of major investments scheduled for the country in areas such as infrastructure, energy and projects related the Olympic Games and World Cup.
