II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Corserv Solutions Ltd on behalf of Cornwall Airport Ltd is seeking a sole provider to provide cleaning services. Cornwall Airport Newquay is a service business which is dependent upon customer perception and satisfaction. The cleanliness of the airport facilities is paramount in creating the right impression with customers.
Main areas that require cleaning services:
1. The Airport Terminal and associated portacabins (most portacabins are located airside near the Terminal - they consist of 2 separate toilet blocks, 1 staff welfare cabin and 1 office cabin, there is also a landside staff welfare cabin),
2. The Air Traffic Control Tower and
3. St Mawgan House (administration office).
4. Southside facilities (including Spaceport SSIF & SSOF, and Buildings 29 & 30)
In addition to this there is occasional ad hoc cleaning, the contractor needs to be able to adapt to this as well as any future additional cleaning requirements.
The Terminal’s general opening hours are between 0530 and 2230, seven days a week. It also has 24 hours security enabling access to non-members of the public outside the main opening hours. Opening hours can vary slightly depending upon the time of year and the airport generally closes on Christmas Day. Hours are always subject to change. Cleaning needs to be flexible around passenger flow and should not interfere with operational tasks especially in the security search area. Consideration should be taken as to whether any cleaning outside of the main opening hours would benefit the Airport and assist in reducing the number of cleaning hours required but as a baseline, we would anticipate the number of weekly hours for the core cleaning service during operational hours to be no less than 140 hours per week.
