II.2.4) Description of the procurement

Wychavon District Council is inviting tenders for Archaeological Mitigation at Milestone Ground, Broadway.

Please refer to the procurement documents for further details. One document shows location plans with four figures showing the site location and the extent of a former quarry and the extent of mitigation areas. Also attached are reports for evaluation of the site and for mitigation of a doctors’ surgery which now fronts onto Station Road.

Although there are no exact timings for the mitigation excavation as yet, it is anticipated that the excavation would begin in the first half of 2023. Bidders will be required to confirm their availability and anticipated timescales for the work on site as part of their proposal. Logistics will need to be carefully managed to avoid spoil double-handling and the site may need to be excavated/backfilled in phases. It should also be noted that the football pitches to the east, in the former quarry footprint, will remain in use whilst the excavation is in progress and so this area cannot be used for welfare or spoil storage.

The Council is using the e-procurement portal known as the Proactis Pro-Contract portal
